WCL Group

WCL is a London-based, international schools group educating over 2,000 students at its six premium schools: five in the USA and one in Qatar.

WCL's schools offer British and international pupils a high quality learning environment with the highest standards of academic rigour and discipline. The UK trained staff aim to help create independent thinkers with a global outlook. This approach has enabled WCL to open three new schools between 2006 and 2008 and recently double the capacity at its Doha school.

In addition, WCL's Fieldwork Education division runs Shell's international schools and has developed the International Primary Curriculum which is used in over 500 schools in 50 countries.

Until 2008, WCL was backed by a small group of individual investors who supported the company through its first stage development. Since 2008, WCL has been backed by Sovereign Capital. Sovereign Capital is a successful private equity investor which has specialised in education and healthcare.

With Sovereign's support and the recent implementation of Microsoft Dynamics GP in December 2008 by Calyx Software Ltd saw the beginning of the next stage of WCL's growth.
